The past couple weeks have been extremely eventful. Graduating college was the biggest one of all!! In a few hours, I’ll be taking the train to Kzoo to see some friends one last time before the big move. In about 24 hrs… I’ll be on my way to my new home. Connecticut.

Last blog: November 1, 2012. I was super excited for the competition season to start. To think the season is over and I’m graduating next week. Graduating college!! Wow. Time really does fly and if you don’t take in every moment, you’ll miss the best ones.

This year has been a crazy roller coaster. The skating season was amazing. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to end my Bronco Skating career with. We got a new coach who was great and helped to change the club in such a positive way. Everyone really came together this year to make it extremely successful. Although we did not always get the outcomes we wanted, we improved every day and continuously pushed ourselves further than anyone of us thought we could go. It makes me feel as ease knowing the future of the club is being left in good hands.

As for school, I have decided to take a year off from grad school and apply at a later time. With that, I will be moving to Connecticut on May 9th. Not even 2 weeks after graduation. Why? To skate. I think I’m going insane. Seriously, who have I become? If you were to have asked me a year ago where I’d be now, my answer was probably getting ready for grad school. But nope. I’m moving literally half way across the country. My family is a little sad/nervous/all the above to say the least. As am I. Leaving my friends and family is going to be extremely hard. I broke down in tears, no, more like sobs, the other day after breakfast with 2 friends. “I’m gonna be so far away. I’m not gonna have any friends. I won’t have anyone. I won’t know anyone. Will you be my pen pals? (like we don’t have technology.. get it together, Ashtynn!)”. All those thoughts pouring from my mouth. When in reality, I’ll already have an instant group of people I can go to. My new teammates. Some whom I already know from the past. If there’s a single best thing about synchro, it’s the family aspect of the sport.

Even though I don’t know if she’ll ever see this, I have to give a HUGE shout out and THANK YOU to my friend that helped make all of this happen. Alyssa Fox, I can’t thank you enough and I am forever in debt to you. Without her, none of this would be happening. I have no doubt it will change my life in unimaginable ways. It will be yet another roller coaster ride, but this time I’m sitting in the front seat.

I am so excited to see what the future holds and what great adventures are yet to come.

1 week until graduation. 2 weeks until grad party. (less than) 3 weeks til I move to CT.

The best is yet to come.

So, about 2 weeks ago I got back from Colorado. I wrote this longgggg post about how I haven’t posted in forever and how amazing my time in CO was, but them my stupid sister decided she was going to close out of it. So mad.

Anyways, in about 8 hours I will be getting up to head to the airport! I’m going to Lake Placid!! I, along with 2 of my teammates are camp counselors at the Lake Placid Synchro Camp. Amy is already there, but Charlotte and I are going Sunday. I’m so excited and anxious and I just wanna get out of this insane crazy place called home!

Tomorrow morning I’m flying into Newark where Charlotte is picking me up. Then, we’re driving to Massachusetts where our other teammate is a camp counselor at an all girls summer camp. It’s just one big counseling summer I guess! haha. Once we get to Mass, we’re picking up Margret and hanging out for the day. After we’re done, Charlotte and I are driving to her grandmas house in Vermont to spend the night. Come early morning, we’re driving to Lake Placid, taking these in between trips luckily cuts down the total driving time to camp, and hanging out with Amy before camp starts at 2.

After camp is over, I’m staying with Charlotte in New York until Tuesday morning and then heading home. I’ll have my computer there with me so I’ll definitely try to blog as much as I can. From the sounds of it the days are pretty long and exhausting!

I’m super excited and I just wanna goooooooo!!!

Had an AWESOME workout. Time for a nap.
